Research just published in Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research notes that cannabidiol (CBD), a non-psychoactive component of cannabis, had a neuroprotective effect unknown to science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The property of CBD as a neuroprotective agent is of interest to the scientific community. This group of researchers led their research to analyze the neuroprotective capacity of the compound against oxidative stress peroxide and its toxicity profile in an in vitro test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After applying low doses of CBD, the neurons reflected a resistance against oxidation in the brain’s primary hippocampus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n“Although CBD has previously demonstrated neuroprotective effects in this type of in vitro testing, the use of low concentrations of CBD meant the rescue of neurons in the face of oxidative stress confirming their neuroprotective capacity.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
