What are the benefits of hemp extracts?

The Hemp extract known as cannabidiol (CBD) has been recognized by the scientific community for supporting physical and psychic wellbeing.

One of its greatest benefits is the antioxidant capacity that makes it a natural supplement for everyone. Osmosis CBD’s blends provide important nutrients that contributes with a rich in antioxidants and balanced diet.

In addition to hemp extract, we provide different types of natural extracts to improve the taste and purpose of the formulation.

Why are Osmosis CBD’s oils better than those currently sold illegally or legally?

While most brands sell hemp extracts (CBD) with one ingredient, usually fractionated coconut oil, Osmosis CBD goes further in its formulation complexity.

Our formulations offer higher purity botanical ingredients and extracts that improves the performance of the CBD extract in the formula. More ingredients, better taste, the same amount of CBD, and better price.

Different studies on the current commercialization of CBD have agreed that most products people sell illegally are contaminated with pesticides, heavy metals, herbicides, and added to this, they do NOT bring the amount of CBD they present on their label. In other words, you may be paying a lot of money for unhealthy and inferior quality products.

Osmosis CBD’s products are the best available because they possess:

  • Authorization from the Ministry of Health of Costa Rica.
  • Laboratory tests assuring the levels and purity of our CBD extracts.
  • Enriched formulations with botanical extracts to improve performance
  • Free of pesticides, ammonia, herbicides, and heavy metals.
  • Organic CBD extract.
  • Certified with Good Manufacturing Practices.

Where does the CBD come from?

CBD is one of more than 114 cannabinoids that can be extracted from the Cannabis Sativa plant (marijuana and hemp). CBD oil can be obtained in various forms: liquid, edible, and within edibles.

CBD is not a euphoric substance, unlike THC –the best-known component of cannabis –which is.

Industrial hemp contains higher levels of CBD and low presence of THC. On the other hand, “marijuana” – female cannabis – has higher concentrations of THC and less CBD.

The world is constantly researching the powerful nutritional properties of CBD. Research has shown that this molecule could contribute to the physical wellbeing.

How much CBD oil I should consume per day?

You can find the minimum and maximum daily dosage on our box and product. However, it is considered that you can start with 5-10mg until you reach 30-60mg daily according to the needs of each person.

At Osmosis CBD® we develop nutritional supplements based on vegetable oil. Sublingual administration is recommended. It can be added to beverages and foods.

Dosage: Each indicator on the droppers aims to deliver a precise dosage. This indicator allows for a more accurate dosage of our supplements. The amount of mg of CBD per ml varies depending on the product:

  • Garden Breeze: 8.8 mg/ml
  • Naranja Krush: 8.8 mg/ml
  • Spiced Canela: 16.7 mg/ml
  • Mandarina Sunrise: 33.3 mg/ml
  • Moon Garden: 66.67 mg/ml
  • Mountain Rest: 100 mg/ml

No. Over the past few years, doctors and scientists have realized that CBD does not produce mental or euphoric alterations commonly associated with marijuana.

Each of our oils is guaranteed with 0% THC, therefore, they will not produce psychotomimetic effects.

Will my child get high on CBD?

The first question parents ask themselves about CBD is whether these products will get their children high. The answer is no. If the content of the products does not include high levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD will not drug your children or teenagers. CBD does not have any psychotropic or euphoric effects commonly associated with products high in THC.

What is the right age for my children to try CBD supplements?

There are many reasons why people consume CBD as older adults and young adults. However, some parents decide to give CBD to their children for its nutritional function or health reasons with not secondary effects.

Can I consume Osmosis CBD® products during the day?

Yes. You can use our products anytime and anywhere as they do not contain psychotropic or intoxicating effects.

Is there any side effect related to CBD?

If you consume pure, unadulterated CBD, it’s unlikely to feel unpleasant side effects or get any disease.

A 2017 World Health Organization report said that “Cannabidiol (CBD) in humans, does not present effects indicative of any potential for abuse or dependence,” and that “it is generally well tolerated with a safety profile.”

On the other hand, some studies to analyze the effects of consuming high daily doses of CBD (+5000mg a day) could lead to some side effects such as drowsiness, decreased appetite, diarrhea, fatigue, vomiting, among others.

That is why it is recommended to consume our supplements in a moderate way and according to the indications for use.

The World Health Organization (WHO) review indicates that CBD has been found to have relatively low toxicity. None of the toxic effects that have been identified in scientific reviews around the world seemed particularly problematic.

Contraindications or Interactions

According to the medical, pharmaceutical, and scientific community, CBD has no troublesome side effects, does not create dependency nor intoxication. Also, its contraindications and interactions are moderate. According to the National Library of Medicine, of United States, you should be careful with the following medicines:

Using CBD in conjunction with medications that break down the liver may slow down the rate at which the body breaks them down. For this, it is recommended in some cases to reduce the dose of CBD intake so that the liver can break down the medical drugs. Some of these medications are: amiodarone (Cordarone), carbamazepine (Tegretol), chloroquine (Aralen), diclofenac (Voltaren), paclitaxel (Taxol), repaglinide (Prandin), and others.

  • Brivaracetam (Briviact): Brivaracetam is modified and broken down by the body. Cannabidiol may decrease the rate at which the body breaks down brivaracetam. This could increase the levels of brivaracetam in the body.
  • Carbamazepine (Tegretol): The body modifies and breaks down carbamazepine. Cannabidiol may decrease the rate at which the liver breaks down carbamazepine. This could increase the levels of carbamazepine in the body.
  • Clobazam (Onfi): Certain medications are changed and broken down by the liver. Cannabidiol may decrease the rate at which clobazam is broken down by the liver. This could increase the effects and side effects of clobazam.
  • Eslicarbazepine (Aptiom): Eslicarbazepine is modified and broken down by the body. Cannabidiol may decrease the rate at which the liver breaks down eslicarbazepine. This could slightly increase the levels of eslicarbazepine in the body.
  • Stiripentol (Diacomit): Stiripentol is modified and broken down by the body. Cannabidiol may decrease the rate at which stiripentol is broken down by the liver. This could increase the levels of stiripentol in the body, increasing its side effects.
  • Everolimus (Zortress): Everolimus is modified and broken down by the body. Cannabidiol may decrease the rate at which the body breaks down everolimus. This could increase everolimus levels in the body.
  • Lithium: Taking high doses of cannabidiol could increase lithium levels. Which can increase the risk of lithium toxicity.

Sedative medications

Some sedative medications may cause drowsiness or drowsiness if used with sedatives such as: benzodiazepines, pentobarbital (Nembutal), phenobarbital (Luminal), secobarbital (Seconal), thiopental (Pentotal), fentanyl (Duragesic, Sublimaze), morphine, propofol (Diprivan) ) and others. Therefore, it is recommended to reduce the doses of CBD or not consume it.

  • Methadone (Dolophine): Methadone is broken down by the liver. Cannabidiol may decrease the rate at which the liver breaks down methadone. Taking cannabidiol along with methadone could increase the effects and side effects of methadone.
  • Rufinamide (Banzel): Rufinamide is modified and broken down by the body. Cannabidiol may decrease the rate at which rufinamide is broken down by the liver. This could slightly increase the levels of rufinamide in the body.
  • Sirolimus (Rapamune): Sirolimus is broken down by the body. Cannabidiol might decrease the rate at which the body breaks down sirolimus, which could increase the levels of sirolimus in the body.
  • Tacrolimus (Prograf): Tacrolimus is modified and broken down by the body. Tacrolimus might decrease the rate at which the body breaks down tacrolimus. This could slightly increase the levels of tacrolimus in the body.
  • Topiramate (Topamax): Topiramate is modified and broken down by the body. Cannabidiol may decrease the rate at which the body breaks down topiramate. This could slightly increase the levels of topiramate in the body.
  • Valproate: Cannabidiol can cause liver damage. Taking cannabidiol with valproic acid could increase the likelihood of liver injury. Cannabidiol or valproic acid may need to be discontinued, or dosage reduced.
  • Warfarin: Cannabidiol might increase warfarin levels, which can increase the risk of bleeding. Cannabidiol or warfarin may need to be stopped, or dose reduced.
  • Zonisamide: The body modifies and breaks down zonisamide. Cannabidiol may decrease the rate at which the body breaks down zonisamide. This could slightly increase the levels of zonisamide in the body.

Questions about hemp extract (CBD)

What is the difference between hemp extract and hemp vegetable oil?

The hemp plant is composed of leaves, stems, flowers, and seeds. In the extraction process, producers decide to preserve some of these components mechanically or chemically.

The general extract can retain terpenes, phytocannabinoids (such as CBD), flavonoids, and others. Oil that only comes from the seeds, known as hemp vegetable oil, is a great nutritional source for human consumption, however, it does not retain all the elements of the extract.

The hemp extract we choose for our Osmosis CBD® products retains a high purity of cannabidiol without traces of THC. In the extraction process the chemists separate the components of flowers and seeds to extract only the cannabidiol extract, hence its correct name: hemp extract (CBD).

What is the difference between a Full Spectrum vs Broad Spectrum hemp extract?

The differences between a Full Spectrum vs Broad Spectrum hemp extract have to do with the “final finish” of the extract. What does this mean? When chemists extract the components of hemp, the first product obtained stores in its content essential oils and cannabinoids, (including up to 0.3% THC). This is known in English as “Full Spectum” and in Spanish as “Espectro Completo”. Meanwhile, in a second extraction if the chemicals want to concentrate some more elements, they remove the THC from the mother extract. This is called Broad Spectrum.

What is CBD isolate?

CBD isolate is the purest concentration of this powerful component. This means that only amounts of CBD are concentrated in the extract without any other molecules.

What is the best way to store my Osmosis®?

Osmosis CBD® oils can be stored in the medicine cabinet or in a place where you are not directly exposed to the sun. It is possible that the product can be refrigerated, but it is not essential.

How should I store the dropper included in the bottle of my Osmosis CBD® oil?

Our products include a dropper inside the 30 ml bottles. This dropper not only helps you dose the oil moderately and accurately, but it is also a form of immediate administration of our oils.

If oral oil consumption is your dosage form, keeping the dropper clean and away from bacteria is essential to preserve the quality of the product.

What is the expiration date of Osmosis CBD® oils?

We carry out constant revisions to ensure the prolonged durability of our products. Analysis of the life of the product ensures that the oil can be kept in its stable and healthy conditions for up to more than 6 months if it is stored in a place out of reach of direct sunlight in a cool and dry place.
